| WebTools Connection Information - At Home |
| Dear User,
This information is to help you access WebTools from home. Please, if you have not already done so, only use a DUSD email account to contact Data Processing, for security reasons we cannot give you any information through outside 3rd party email systems. You are required to have, use and maintain a DUSD email account while employed as a DUSD Teacher, long-term Substitute, or Clerical office person or Administrator. You will need one in order to access any of the “Restricted” areas of the DP website, also you cannot access WebTools from home without it, and in the very near future, it will be required at the school sites also. Security of student information is a very serious matter, and it is the obligation of all of us to protect our students. If you currently have an email account, proceed to the following section, otherwise, at your first opportunity, you need to call Technology at Ext. 6905, they will set you up or correct any problem with a current account. WEBTOOLS FROM HOME: First, if you are using AOL to connect to the internet, that is fine, AS LONG AS you use it ONLY to connect and then minimize it. Only use MS Internet Explorer (The Big E) to connect to WebTools. After you have opened your browser, by clicking on the big "E" on your computer desktop or under programs. In the address line at the top of the screen, enter: http://dp.dusd.net You will see a walking floppy, click the chalk-board to the right, this
will open a dialog box requesting information. ID: rsmith@dusd.net Please remember Win2000 or Win98 may or may not ask for a DOMAIN, just remember to enter the information exactly as it is above. As long as your "eMail" information is correct you will have no problems. Once you are at the WebTools "Webpage", PLEASE check the "Important Messages" section for any WebTools notices, these will change periodically. At the top of the page, you will find 2 chalk boards, "From School " or "From Home", click on the "From Home" chalk board, it is a "Secured" SSL connection. SSL protection is the same that the online banks use, and will further help to protect student information while you are connected. If your browser does not support the Secured connection, than you may have to update your browser through Microsoft Windows Update to 5.5 or 6.0. At this point, logging into WebTools is no different than at school; ID: LAST NAME (space) FIRST NAME If you do not remember what your email information is, you have to call Ext. 6905 (Technology Dept) to have your email information reset. This was explained in prior trainings held for WebTools. It is very important that you get/keep/maintain a VALID DUSD eMail account, otherwise you may not be able to access critical district services. Data Processing can ONLY Work within WebTools or Reflection, we can reset ONLY your WebTools and Reflection passwords, not the district email system, that is managed by Technology Services Dept. at Ext 6905. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at: dataprocessing@dusd.net or call us at: Ext. 6760 |
